This Is The World We Live In Poem by Kevin Patrick II

This Is The World We Live In

We can know longer pretend to believe
That we live in a society that cares
We can know longer rely on authority
That applies more force then we can bare

We can know longer afford to pretend
That there is room for the ill and the poor
When the rich line the pockets of our leaders
And want hand outs of full plates crying for more

We follow rules created by people
Who do nothing but break them everyday
And we are expected to be obedient
While they crush us and make us their prey

Its insane to assume that this world
Was made for anyone to truly feel safe
Its madness to accept their was fairness
When there's nothing but masters and slaves

Everyday the goal posts keeps shifting
Pushing the vulnerable to the edge of the abyss
And the water keeps risings and rising
while the wealthy see that nothings amiss

Profit and business are now our true gods
And their priests are corrupt psychopaths
And everyone who worships at their alters
Happily feed on the weak in their Bloodbath

This is the world we now live in,
this is the world we have made
And in the end we are all guilty
and none of us will ever be saved
