How come your eyes are so blue? People ask
The skies are too dark to be April
It doesn’t seem like you love me anymore
You just ignore me
You don’t hug me anymore
You barely even know I’m here
You don’t even look at my eyes when I cry
You are afraid to see the tears
The tears you cause
Why don’t you just go?
Keep me from this pain
I don’t want to feel it anymore
You are such a lie
A burden I can’t handle
I think of you when I brush my hair
When I smell the roses
When I see a strangers smile
Or the blue jay on the windowsill
People say you are an angel
But that’s the only thing they see
They don’t see you intoxicated
They don’t see the bruises

To save you
