Think For Yourself Poem by DM W

I try to think clearly and freely,
But everyone else seems to want me to
Think like them: which is so ridiculous
And impossible for me! Although it's
Hard, it's much more rewarding living on
The margins, than being part and parcel
Of this society's wretched mainstream.
I try to stay away from conflict; yet
It seems to follow me. So, I thank God
For poetry: it's a perfect release.
It's my natural home; my idea
Of heaven: my flower strewn sanctuary!
