Lovely poem. It really made me smile and determined to put a conker in someone's shoe as soon as possible, or do something equally wacky. I'm sure I'll feel young again when I hear the scream...
I like this one. If I could turn back time, I would be back playing conkers. I don't recall anyone ever putting them in shoes though. Is it one of those strange West Country rituals I wonder?
A great poem about youth, innocence, and the yearning to get them both back.
