Things Not Shared Poem by Ray Hansell

Things Not Shared

Rating: 5.0

I heard your voice on the phone
It brought a smile to my face
So many years ago
You left without a trace

Many times I've wondered
Just where you might be
Just hoping that one day
You'd get in touch with me

When I picked up the phone
Then I heard your voice
I was happy beyond words
As my heart began to rejoice

You left so very suddenly
You never said a word
I only knew that you were gone
From the rumors that I heard

I wish that you had told me
That you were going to leave
I wouldn't have tried to stop you
Or let you see me grieve

I would have put my arms around you
Bid you a fond farewell
As I softly wishper in your ear
Our secret I'll never tell

Lovely writing. This poem is so expressive of the feelings you have expressed so well in other pieces. Move on, and write some more really good stuff!
