They soon forget and turn away,
for them, their days remain -
each day is just another day
and passes all the same.

A significant amount of emotion felt throughout this poem, filled with an unending sadness. Days just growing into years, every day the same as before, because love lives here no more. I believe the intense pain left in the holes of our hearts will never let us forget those we have loved in life, even though they may be gone. Some people are so devastated by their losses that they cannot express their feelings, so it only seems that they've forgotten, yet the pain and love remain forever in their silent hearts alone. Had to come back and revisit this poem, it etched it's way into my mind, one I cannot forget. RoseAnn

Emotional poem Valerie though I don't agree with the sentiments.

A solemn song that is saturated with sadness yet souring in the sky of significance!

The steady pulse of life beats on, the earth still moves through space - they soon forget, they soon forget the ones we can't replace. A poem on inhumanly attitude of the world where man becomes animal while he has to be a social animal.Well expressed.Well done

Is it just this fast paced world or was it the same 30 years ago just moving on so quickly? As Hazel said our memories can hold them close. My Mum died yesterday so I am now preparing for my goodbyes. Thank you Val for your words. May I say that they don't forget, they just do not know how to express emotionsx

Some people do forget after a while, some purposely not wanting to feel the pain, others are unraveled in the depths of dementia and forget their losses, still thinking loved ones are alive. Others still remember with love, smiling at the precious memories cherished within their minds, never wishing to forget any of their images. Life takes us through turmoil, heartache, sorrow, yet we cling to those who have gone before us, treasuring them in our hearts while we are alive. A beautiful poem Val, very gentle yet telling. Thank you, RoseAnn

Dear Val, This poem is really moving. It made me think about my beloved late mother. Even during the tea after the funeral nobody seemed to be talking much about our loved one we will miss forever. But somehow That one very special person that we love and miss so much will forever have left something behind in the hearts of a few. And we who dearly keep loving them, whether they are still here or not, can make their love and care eternal by continuing let it live through us and share.

A great poem, people tend to forget or choose to forget about people we have lost, the ones who choose to forget are the ones who tend to hide their emotions.

The steady pulse of life beats on and on and the world will go on as before! For many, it is quite easy to forget a loss! But for a few, the void created by a loved one's absence cannot be filled and memories continue to linger on and on! Great write!

In spite of many of them forgetting a lot about us, a few remain there recollecting all about like a breeze in summer. A realistic summing up of facts has been done by Valerie.. Thank you for this share.

Life continues as before, after our days. If you're remembered for some good virtue then your life will not have been lived in vain. A very lovely poem Val.
