They Returned Poem by Akham Nilabirdhwaja Singh

They Returned

Rating: 4.5

I tore the filthy pages
of my life,
threw them over the stream
to oblivion.
'Let these be gone
life to be beautiful.'
But
they returned
for the story
of my life incomplete
without them.

Very good. We often wish we could rid ourselves of certain passages in our lives, but is easier wished than done. This poem keeps talking to me long after I read it- -the mark of an excellent poem.10+++++++++++++
