They Don't Believe Their Mother Poem by Richard Jarboe

They Don't Believe Their Mother

They don't believe their mother,
Don't believe what Mama's got to say,
I don't blame them for not believing,
It's just part of the price they're destined to pay.

Mama could tell them about the future,
She could tell them about the past,
In one ear and out the other,
How long can it last?

Living in Jersey, the weather's like Georgia,
It gets a little warmer everyday,
But why should Mama warn them,
They don't believe anything she say.

Mama don't speak English,
Mama speaks earthquake,
Mama's words make buildings sway,
But why should Mama warn them, ,
They can't interpret anything she say.

They don't believe their Mother Earth
