A very down-to-earth poem, Seamus. What an unusual perspective of digging and farming, but true. We are all dust and return to it at death. I like the metaphor of the human anatomy - it's very painful! This poem reminds me of a poem we studied in school called Death the leveller. Good writing.
a poem of do or die? survival is the reason why! ......well written.
