There once was a brain from Surrey
Who solved equations in a hurry
He studied his beer
Then all became clear…

Sounds like a fusion of Einstein and Bukowski. Or Hawking and Kerouac. Or...
A poem that can taste the amusement of a problem tackled and solved. Penned by a brilliant mind MJ..........10
Thank you, Geeta! Yes, sometimes problems are solved...with careers resolved.
Surrey brain amazingly solved problems and motivated mind to find interesting answers. An amazing humorous poem is interestingly penned....10... Reading such a lovely poem we feel glad.
the volume and depth of this poem is in the measure served, the consequences of accuracy in equations, the importance of precise decial point shock ways, the point of placing a simple dot has mommoth consequences
Thanks so much, Terry. And those consequences, and that math! This poem is based on actual circumstances. There are days of tragedy, and they are balanced by bouts of comedy.
Yes bays of tragedy, sore throat and had one today, noticed I hit the wrong key above for (the point of placing a simple dot has mammoth consequences)
Too much alcohol kills the brain cells. A little, sometimes, may help stimulate the imagination. O course, there are a whole lot better ways to do that. Including writing limericks. I loved this one, M.J. Profoundly amusing, and yet, tragic. Another mighty 10!
Thank you, Richard. And you are so absolutely right. This person, the whole situation, inspires both comedy and tragedy. Here's to the preservation of precious brain cells!
i once had desires of a nobel now i think of being only noble
As the philosopher once said, be...noble, good, beautiful, and happy! Thanks for stopping by, Poet.
I like this poem, it's a nice change, fun, witty with a message...Fabulous.....
Thank you so much. I admire M.....'s spirit. He tells me he's still thinking of the Nobel committee. I may have more to say.
I know so many people that have destroyed there life with drinking (and drugs) . Your poem has so much truth in it.
And it is something that is at times so hard to watch. Thank you for your comment. Much appreciated.
Each time I try to give a ten I get error sorry. Wish I give to this poem much more. It shows in such a short space with so simple lines of wit, how drinking could destroy not only health and life but aso dreams. Thank you for sharing, great pen!
Elena, Thank you so much. And yes, you are so right. This is in fact a story about what happens when the toxic mix of drink and brain cells fails to work well, or at all. I don't know what's happening with the ratings. I've had the same thing happen over maybe the past week. At some point I'll need to go back and revisit, and rate, a few poems. Thanks again
M. J. Loved your limerick.! ! ! Love them...and this one is wonderful.
Nicely composed in brief.Funny, interesting and well presented. Many thanks.
Nice Lemonrick!
