There Once Was A Poet Called Spock! Poem by Denis Martindale

There Once Was A Poet Called Spock!

There once was a poet called Spock,
Who battled against Writer's Block!
So he'd get drunk on rum,
Till new poems would come,
As well as new jokes like Knock! Knock!

There once was a young guy called Spock,
His laundry kept losing a sock!
He would often complain,
Till I said, use your brain,
It's better than losing your frock!

There once was a shepherd called Spock,
Who cared for each one in his flock!
When he counted his sheep,
He would fall off to sleep,
Then fall to the ground from a rock!

There once was a Doctor called Spock,
The patients decided to mock!
They picked up the habit
To talk like a rabbit,
Before they asked him, What's up, Doc?

One day, I paused to wonder
As my wife's a charity funder.
She gave this and gave that
And my favourite hat!
So I gave her shoes! And that stunned her!

One day, I paused to wonder
Some buccaneers choose to plunder.
Is each one a slob
Who won't get a job?
Or do they think that's such a blunder?

One day, I paused to wonder
That God made storms and thunder!
My teacher at School explained,
These happen sometimes when it's rained,
So watch out when nearby or under!

One day, I paused to wonder
When my dog tore poems asunder.
Since I haven't a clue,
There's not much I can do
To upload them to Poemhunter!
