There Is No Difference. Poem by Bailey Burris

There Is No Difference.

Why does this keep happening to me?
One second were in love
And the next you just leave
Wasted months of wasted years
All it’s been is a waste of tears
Am I that repulsive?
I guess it’s just impulsive.
It’s second nature
To be like this
Its not my culture
It’s just how I exist.
The questions why?
Why do they leave?
This pain is something
That advil cant even relieve
A pain like this is fast a rare?
Bull shi t man
It’s all I get here
Lies upon lies
From pitiful eyes
Humor me please
Tell me he’s crazy
And I am out of his league
Say that there is more out there for me
More fish in the sea
But you don’t get it
They are limited
Attraction is acid
Hit’s hard for a day
But the next is just placid
A goop of senseless strings of words
‘I love you’ is like trash eaten by birds.
It’s pointless, just a game of the heart
Who ever gives in first is the opposite of smart
They get punked, it’s all a joke
We laugh till we might choke
You wanna know the funniest part
I write these rhymes
I complain of the ones who give their heart
So freely then just fall apart
But I am the first example
I am that stupid girl whose heart is trampled
So guess what, I am not different
Im the same as all the others
And I’ll keep writing these lines
Till we become mothers.
