There Is A Reason Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

There Is A Reason

Beyond the corridors of my mind
Out there in the far reaches of consciousness
Tucked inside the envelope of mystery
There is a reason for the brutal disruption of life
Death allowed to penetrate deep into the territory of the heart
To pierce the substance of being with such reckless force
There is a reason beyond logic, outside the perimeter of human thoughts
There is a reason for the flood of sorrow that defies logic and destroys the sense of hope
Breaking down the solid entrance to our material comfort
Soaking the well cushioned physical reality
There is a reason for all the suffering
But let this reason be outside us
Let it inhabit the realm of mysteries
Let no one cause unnecessary harm to oneself or others
Let the reason for our suffering remain hidden
Together, let's make life a beautiful oasis
Where we can all drink without fear or favor
Let the heart of Mankind be at peace
Let our story be that of goodness, compassion and hope
