Yesterday, the tribal festivals.
Today, permanent sports
& the National Lottery.
Yesterday, the seasonal rites.
Today,24 hour infotainment,
& the lavish celebrity wedding.
Yesterday, the ebb and flow of creation.
Today, streams of neon ketchup and plastic.
Yesterday, the richness of sacred culture.
Today, the present our only passion.
Yesterday is now but a dream.
Today is all there is. And so I stare,
Fascinated, and dumbfounded,
At the void of the spectacle.

You see with honest open eyes Dominic and write with worldly wise hands. Great poem once again with many grains of truth on today's modern uncaring selfish society. I must admit there are times I would relish to live on Anthrax Island. 10++ and added to my 'Will these people ever learn' locker. Take care, stay healthy and don't let the muppets get you down Dominic. Hang in there.
Thanks Sean for this and your other comments about my other poems today...I'll try to hang in there. I can hear Obi Wan Kenobi warning me as I write, ' Don't give into hate...that leads to the dark side! '
