When I submit a new poem,
There's a fear I simply dread.
Will people smile and enjoy it,
Or kidnap me and take my head.
It's always a tricky balancing act,
When you write something fresh and new.
How will people simply accept it,
Or do their knives come out for you.
I express my thought in writing and leave people to their opinions. Thanks for sharing. Please kindly check my poems HOPE and THE BEAUTY OF DEATH. Kingsley Egbukole

I would like to translate this poem
First off, it sounds as though you are writing for the wrong audience. If you desire a visceral response, you must write from your own heart, because what is genuine and sincere will touch people. Secondly, I understand that some poets are given to exaggeration, but I highly doubt that knives would come out for you, unless perhaps you blasphemed the Queen! Write to please yourself. If you are satisfied with your work, that is all that truly matters.
Yes. Spot on I concur. It's a bit like picking your feet in Ploughkeepsie. Thanks again.
