The You And I Poem
If l could give you enought reasons,
if God has his own reasons for genesis
If nothing descends from this darkness,
And dreams are likesurfaces on thedark waters,
And life is just a painting of surreal misinterpretations,
No hopes, no anchor,
or reasons for its continuations,
And life was not a breathing of songs,
Of big animals, giant trees,
swift birds, and enchanted mountains,
If nights would not unwound
its miserable isolations,
and you lose hope in this world
and the reasons for believing in anything,
Then God was notright in creating a man
and a woman for his altars
His pulpits for his penultimate praise songs,
His visions and hispoetry of home,
for creating you and me.
