The Year Of Hardtruths Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

The Year Of Hardtruths

A Year of Hard Truths

One emotional day becomes another,

An attachment to the sorrows of the world and the weather and the sky as bountiful as its rain,

The mortal man is forever agrieved, by his own flesh and contradicting beliefs.

The dictator kills as many as he can,
Propensityforhisabsolute powers, his cruelty, killings and disrespectfor the human rights

A less than an innocent lookingyoung man starts his shooting rampage,

As flowers and condolence notes are distributed freely.

The mourning is intense in the surprised gravesite of rape victim.

Endless theories on the forensic files.
As deaths are piled in the morgues and the hospitals.

Good and evil are continually at war,

Somewhere in the world an endangered specie is killed for his horn and skin for a trophy.

Fortified zonesrestricted zones,
The killing continues in incognito.

The fury of the impending rain like all season screamerandstaples of the daily newspapers,

While a year of hard truth confrontsthe mind, we look for the prayers and divine interventions,

Even a wakeup calls from the nightmares and
the horrors.
And the Bible prophised the end of the world.
