Neither too hot nor too cold,
Yet the weather's wrath unfolds—
Fierce, unkind, and cruel,
Leaving lives changed and withered.
But does the weather ask why?
It is humanity that wounds the world.
Not nature that is harsh and blind,
But the one tormented, mistreated by man.
For it is human cruelty to the earth
That brings the world's fury upon us.
