Mary, I think this is a powerful poem filled with sad truth.

Very nice...you are right...there are many problems now and many of the peoples poems in here are on the war while there are other hardships to be addressed. Good poem.

Mary...you have a strong 'idea' here, but 'things' rather than ideas make for strong poems. I'm imagining an old woman in her attick in the dark by herself listening to the roar of the increasing wind rip at the roof. She knows she will probably die. What do you imagine she might be thinking-maybe something simple: the cat she loved when she was a child or a sunset watched with her husband before he died years ago. I'm suggesting you take your idea and plant it firmly in the ground. Find a specific tragedy to make your idea seem real without stating it.

Yes, it sure looks that way. The 4th Reich is here in the disguise of an altruistic Big Pharma-Medical Complex that aims to make all of us dependent by treating imaginary disease in the healthy and causing as many illnesses as they can. The world lost most of its humane nature in the 1950's. Good poem Mary. H
