Hi Nosheen, The rule has changed The end precedes the beginning Alas Humanity silent Only Devil's cheer! A really haunting poem, expressing the concerns on this calamitous times, in most simple and apt words. Every human being with his/her back bone straight, should respond. And your response is of immense importance, as you live in a country, which is one of the worst victims of the unending cycles of violence.
- only devil's cheer - is a grim but honest ending to your poem, it shows how far we have sunk as a world society from what humanity should be. The speaker expresses dismay and confusion. I'm sure Nosheen has relevant ideas but this is not a programmatic poem, offering some 10-point solution or what not. It is a cry from the heart, an emotional appeal made before it's too late for us to recognize the crisis and assume responsibility. I was especially moved by the third stanzas about ANGELS giving up, drenched in sorrow. Angels make brief appearances in my poems. Their presence is a sign of our spiritual condition, and right now it's perilous. This poem is what William Stafford called A NECESSARY POEM.
So many look forward to The end. To them, it leads to a beginning, so the present does not matter. All we have is the present. I hope more people can appreciate that. Your writing style is magnificent.
Grandiose the scenes depicted so beautifully in poetical terms.
Well done. Humanity is indeed too silent. Not that there are not many voices to oppose terror. I fear it will continue for a long time. It is the saddest thing on earth, when earth and life can be so beautiful all these terrorists can think of is death and domination and the ugliest and basest side of the human animal.
Yes! ! Dreams evaporated in smoke! With the muse of the monsters of this world. Nice piece of work. Thanks for sharing.
Today is a testament to the wisdom of your poem, great write
