The Workaholic Shopaholic Sexaholic In Me Looks At War And Peace Among Other Things

The Workaholic Shopaholic Sexaholic in me looks at war and peace among other things
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
I see the senseless mayhem in parts of Northern Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen and a place I cannot recollect
And think that in the case of World War I and II, both Canada and the USA fought to defend the honour of their country
Britain, Poland and Russia fought in patriotic fervour
Countries like Germany, Japan and Italy - the axis forces fought in pigheaded insistence
That they were superior and hence, had to possess all of Europe;

How sad was the outcome of such needless destruction and violence
In the case of old South Vietnam and old South Korea, war was waged
To protect and preserve their political ideology
In some of the soldiers' case, it was a much needed paycheque or hotbloodedness or
Not to fight may have resulted in dire consequences;

I have a painting for each, depicting Canada's role in the Vietnam war and the Korean war
Dwelling on the historical aspect of Canada which is said to have been involved
In undercover missions to destroy the North Korean railway tracks that supplied weapons and ammunition
To its soldiers wreaking havoc on the South Korean army on whose side the Canadians and the Americans fought
For anti-communism battle was America's war cry
AND in Vietnam, the Canadians who fought for the Americans on the side of the South Vietnamese
Had to protect the villages and were more involved in promoting safety amongst the local people
But America fought long and hard against the North Vietnamese soldiers who were adept at guerilla warfare;

And here, I bring in Adrian Lyne's Jacob's Ladder which is the story of a soldier who, as Wikipedia says:
On October 6,1971, an American infantryman, Jacob Singer, is with the 1st Air Cavalry Division, deployed in a village in Vietnam's Mekong Delta, when his close-knit unit comes under sudden attack.
Continuing as me, Gayathri B. Seetharam, I say that my painting pictures the
Defending of such a village by a Canadian and a South Vietnamese soldier
When a North Vietnamese soldier ambushes from across the hilly terrain
With a knife and bare feet at the Gate post but he is made to surrender and the village is saved;

The workaholic in me made these two paintings
With much thought and I even wrote a couple of short stories on Canada's role in the wars
And PM Justin Trudeau's peacekeeping efforts from the Canadian soldiers in Mali in Africa
But this afternoon, after watching Sofia Kinen beat Gabrine Muguruza
In the Australian Open Women's Final with a winning performance,
I observed the play of light passing through two triangular dispersing prisms
And anticipate with glee all of my analyses which needs to be done to explain these gorgeous phenomena;

The shopaholic in me has ordered another triangular prism and a silicon microchip
To study how light is going to behave when passed through the 3 prism(s)
And thus the three aspects of my personality will be studied in an engineer's language
But with physics being the medium of study;

The sexaholic in me would like an engineer's perspective, particularly one like me
With a sense of purpose and determination
On condoms and I learnt from Wikipedia that Latex has outstanding elastic properties:
Its tensile strength exceeds 30 MPa, and latex condoms may be
Stretched in excess of 800% before breaking;

And I say, Oy, Mate, would a condom made of Nylon 6,6 stretch to the same extent
And wondered if its tensile strength has been calculated
A quick check of the internet said that its tensile strength is 90-185 N/mmsquare
Luckily, the conversion factor is one and nylon 6,6's tensile strength
Is at least three times higher than that of latex
But I suppose that there could be leakage from nylon 6,6
And the only way to determine if there is leakage from the existing ones
Is to get my hands on one and pour water into it
I say to myself, You go, Girl.
