A lovely poem that touches one's heart. One would not expect anything less from Sandra.
The 1st stanza is a promise of wonders of the summer night, the 2nd stanza is the dreaded YES, BUT - switch as lovers go missing. BUT it's reassuring that the night dims in sympathy with our human disappointment. Summer nights really are special - they stretch out to a glorious length or seem to. I'm go out on my balcony in a moment.
