The Wonders Of Sleep Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

The Wonders Of Sleep

Rating: 5.0

Exit to strange places
Room in spiritual realm
Interact with beings, dead, alive or psychic
The mass of flesh is dead wood
Absolutely ignorant of the world
A world away from the world
The chest heave up and down
Reaffirm the people not to weep

The shy doctor came with his tool
Invisibly administer the potent concoction
The nerves relax
Muscles lose their cramp
The ache is off my head
And cells of mucous refresh to reason anew

The soul races back from the trip
In time to beat anxiety
With tales so strange like the trip

I stretch my appendages
Canon shots assail the auditory nerves
The clock says I was away four hours
And a lot was the occurrence
But I can kick down the "iroko"
The wonders of sleep

Fabulous poem setting us in the mode to connect with sleep and dreams with confident civility. Telling with details but not quite as clinical as pure and plain medical. Fabulous poem.
