Great poem told beautifully. Sadly in every era people are ostracized because their belief are not at par with society. Even their way of life or their skills are looked down too.

Beautifully told. I have seen many graves that had headstones no longer readable and wondered about the people lying there six feet below. Who were they? What kind of life did they have? Do they have relatives around here today? I'm voting your poem a ten. Congrats for Poem of the Day!

nice story, but I bet to differ, today is not the forgiving times. We're worse than those before us centuries ago just that we know how to cover our hatred with hypocrisy. I feel sorry for the woman, she might be innocent as you wrote. good narrative, Colleen.

Real cemetery. Real grave. Real me. Real cool! thanks for sharing. i could picture some of those gravestones you described, as i too have seen them. reminds me of The Scarlet Letter gal, though she was not accused of being a witch, and of some muslim women and others that i hear of being stoned or burned or whipped for offenses......against religion or their families.....TODAY! yikes! : ( bri :)

Superb experience written in melodious verses. What makes our experiences special is often the thoughts we think. Your pity for the woman and the very strong ending are wonderfully recounted here and can be a source of inspiration and wisdom for all readers. Excellent work

I wonder, how did you find such story that no one notice. Yes, agree she might be innocent but forgotten. You wrote such details
