As twilight ushers in another dawn,
I wander through days,
seeking sanctuary
from a world that wants to hurt me.
In the stillness between beats
the heart heals,
and scars accrued over time
Heal into wisdom.
The wisdom of knowing.
Knowing that Happiness was only
a short pause in the pain.
of knowing that in solitude I cannot heal,
of knowing when to let go.
The wisdom of knowing.
That silence is my peace,
Solitude is not my friend,
That Letting go is healing,
But in my soul A constant battle rages,
the ancient battle.
The battle between holding on and letting go.
And I know That I'm haunted,
Haunted by the good I did
and by the good I did not do.
sometimes,
I just want to be forgotten.
