The Wicked Shall Never Prosper But The Righteous Will Poem by Roxanne Dubarry

The Wicked Shall Never Prosper But The Righteous Will

Rating: 5.0

The light of the righteous shines brightly,
but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.
Pride only breeds quarrels,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice.

He who scorns instruction will pay for it,
but he who respects a command is
rewarded.
The teaching of the wise is a
fountain of life,
turning a man from the snares of
death.

Good understanding wins favor,
but the way of the unfaithful is
hard.
A rich man may ransom his life,
but a poor man hears no threat.

The righteous hate what is false,
but the wicked bring shame and
disgrace.
Righteousness guards a man of
integrity,
but wickedness overthrows the
sinner.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of
life,
and he that wins such is wise.
If the righteous receive their due on
earth,
how much more the ungodly and the
sinner!

The wealth of the wicked is stored up
for the righteous,
and the man who practices dishonest gain,
shall never enjoy neither prosperity, nor the
unholy fruits of his labor.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

2) thus, by being righteous and positive, one endears prosperity, while by harbouring wickedness and negativity one opts doom for oneself. Great poem. Thank you.5*s

I often quote from the Holy Bhagawat Gita "Uddharet Aatman Aatmanam…"… one has to lift oneself up by practising righteousness. One should not degrade oneself by negativity. For, there is no friend like oneself and no foe other than oneself "
