Very good! Wonderful thro' the generations & true observations of us English past, perhaps not so much today. Ah! & those cliffs, I lived on them! ! , sooooooo true the sight of them from afar & getting closer - emotional. And sanctuary to so many for generation upon generation. It’s great to read this poem again. A lot of people don’t realize that it was this poem that inspired the World War II song, ‘There’ll be blue birds over the white cliff of Dover. Released in 1942 and sung by the forces sweetheart Vera Lynn. The words where written by Nat Burton who had never seen England and the melody was by Walter Kent.
Most beautiful and enchanting by poem...always brings a tear to my eye
