I
They hear the truth, so clear, so bright,
Yet search for shadows in the light.
You speak with honesty, bare and true,
Still doubt grows strong in all they do.
II
Why do they question what you share,
As if your soul lays traps in air?
It's not your words they can't receive,
But in themselves they won't believe.
III
For deep within, they wear disguise,
Their hearts entangled in small lies.
And when you offer truth so free,
It threatens their dishonesty.
IV
So rather than admit the cost,
They claim your honesty is lost.
Not knowing how to stand or see,
That truth feels foreign to the guilty.
