The Weight Of Truth Poem by Osaya Evbuomwan

The Weight Of Truth

I told myself I wouldn't do this,
To bare my soul, to let you know,
But love's truth is a heavy kiss,
In the silence, my heartache grows.

I read your words, echoing 'why, '
You dismiss my feelings, cast them aside,
A rudeness blooms when you're awry,
In your storm, my love can't abide.

I sought advice, my heart laid bare,
'She's not the one, ' they solemnly say,
Yet still, I stand, wrapped in despair,
For your beauty dims in the shadows of gray.
