The Weight Of A Pawn Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Weight Of A Pawn

We the people
they say
we have the
final say
but I don't think!
it work
that way
we aint nothing
but a pawn in the game
faceless
without a face
nameless
without a name

We the people
we are the ones
they hurt
close down our jobs!
and put us
out of work
we aint nothing
but a pawn in the game
faceless
without a face
nameless
without a name
We the people
they sweep us under
the rug
but they don't feel
no guilt
they don't feel
no shame!
