The Wait Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

The Wait

In between life's events
A desolate chunk of time
Stretches in all direction
With no visible hope
Only mirage and more time
Inflating your mind
With thoughts of hopelessness

The wait is a stretch of time
When your dreams are suspended
Your life is incomplete
Your patience is stretched
Your faith is deflated
Your love is strained
As you wallow in the pool of confusion

You are psychological stretched
To the brink of fear
"What if" syndrome
The abyss of the unknown
Looks you in the eye
Unblinking

Life is a series of events
Let your hope be unending
Let your faith be complete
Let your Love be eternal
Then you will conquer
The hopelessness in between life's events

The wait is a test you need to pass
In order to hop on to the next event
That is the meaning of success
