The Verinag Poem by Mohammad Younus

The Verinag

The Verinag

A pristine clear spring
The source of the Jehlum
Gushes out from a mountain
From the unknown source
Nowhere is its beginning
Flows down as a mighty river
Falls into a vast sea
Nowhere is its ending
The river flows from eternity
Shall it ever stop!
Mountain is not it's beginning
Sea is not it's ending
Water to water is it's journey
Thus is the story of my soul
Mortal is my frame
Immortal is my soul
Time and space do not limit it
From God it comes
To God is it's return
A journey from God to God!
Inna lillahi wa inna
Ilayhi rāji'on
