the whole poem is full of imagery and metaphoric, such as Moist, bright, and green, the smiling landscape, swelling the woods, warbling brooks, bleatings of the hills, sweeten'd spring zephyr, retracting yon eastern cloud, Bestriding earth, red to the fading violet, twine of light, white mingling maze.....great really; enjoyable also........congrats

This is such a beautifully expressive poem about a boy experiencing the glories of nature around him. I liked it very much, especially the imagery.

I don't understand. It says the poem is by John Ackerman, but the note seems to suggest otherwise. And why is the poem illustrated in this way? At any rate, it read more like a classic lyric than modern verse. Was it a translation? I am confused. The only John Ackerman I found is a literary critic.
