The Unwavering Beacon Poem by Richard Weissman

The Unwavering Beacon

When first we met ‘neath warm Ojai skies
And you puzzled to know me and I you,
Little could we dream how far this yarn might spin,
Nor all the twists that fate would hold.
Instead we touched and held fast with faith in a love transcendent of mere reason,
And inner and outer journeys wove through cities, careers, philosophies and years,
‘til nothing held us save each to the other,
Then, as now - in the West, as in the East, as in the South
this constancy of love held us, saved us - served as an unwavering beacon of light midst the seasons of life's change.
