The Unsung Hero Poem by Benjamin Debrah

The Unsung Hero

Unnoticed savior, a steady flame
That burns with purpose, always and same
Often ignored, but efforts shine
Invisible cape with love's design

He tills the soil with hardened palms
To shield his own from want's alarms
No praises sought, just quiet strength
To walk the day, no matter the length

The rock on which all else depends
A pillar that the home-life lends
His sacrifice may go unseen
Yet he stands firm, resolved, and serene

The aching back, the furrowed brow
Do not define the father's vow
To shepherd those within his care
And nurture with a love so rare

Gray hairs may come, his youth may fade
But constant is the dues he's paid
Safeguarding those he holds most dear
Home's unsung hero every year

When storms of life rush in to break
The tender bonds that families make
It's father's sure and steady hand
That weathers ills no soul has planned

So oft his praise goes "unbestowed"
His deeds may walk an unmarked road
But volumes could not contain that whole
Vast richness of a father's soul
