The True Teachings Of Jesus Christ Poem by Shaila Touchton

The True Teachings Of Jesus Christ

Love thy neighbor as thyself,
He taught us to cherish and help.
To turn the other cheek, to forgive,
And to bless those who curse and revile.

To feed the hungry, clothe the poor,
And welcome strangers to our door.
To care for the sick, the widow, and the orphan,
And to show compassion to all, no matter the burden.

To seek the kingdom of God above,
And to live with humility and love.
To store up treasures in heaven's store,
And to seek wisdom from the Holy Spirit's shore.

To be the light in a darkened world,
And to share the Good News, unfurled.
To follow Him, the Way, the Truth, and the Life,
And to find salvation in His sacrifice and strife.
To love our enemies, to pray for those who spite
And to show grace, even in the darkest of nights
To be a servant, to wash the feet of others
And to lay down our lives, like a sacrificial brother

To seek the lost, to bind up the broken
And to proclaim liberty, to the captives and spoken
To be a light on a hill, a city set apart
And to shine the light of Christ, in every corner of our heart

To be a new creation, a new heart and a new mind
And to walk in the Spirit, leaving the old behind
To bear the fruit of love, joy, peace and kindness
And to show the world, the beauty of His design
May we strive to live, according to His will
And to be a reflection, of His love and His skill
May we be a blessing, to those around us each day
And may our lives, point others to the Way.
May our hearts be pure, and our motives true
May our words be gentle, and our actions new
May we be a fragrance, of Christ's sweet perfume
And may our lives, be a symphony, to His eternal tune

May we be a shelter, for those who are worn
And may our love, be a balm, to those who are torn
May we be a beacon, in the darkness of night
And may our light, shine bright, with the radiance of His light

May we be a vessel, for His use and His grace
And may our lives, be a canvas, of His divine embrace
May we be a reflection, of His glory and might
And may our hearts, be a sanctuary, for His presence and light

May we be a blessing, to those around us each day
And may our lives, point others, to the Way, the Truth, and the Life
May we be a living sacrifice, holy and pure
And may our hearts, be fully surrendered, to His divine allure

May we be a shining star, in the midnight sky
And may our light, shine bright, until the day we die
May we be a faithful servant, to the end of our days
And may our lives, be a testament, to His love and His praise.
May we strive to live by His teachings true,
And to shine His light, in all we do.
