The True Poet Of Her Age Poem by DM W

The True Poet Of Her Age

Rating: 5.0

The true poet of her age is fire born.
She embraces this dream crossed, roaring world
In all its vibrant light and dark aspects.
She feels a kinship with the moon, the stars
Hills, rivers and streams; the wind and the trees.
Her visions transcend this bleak modern age.
She finds no refuge nor comfort in houses
Of decay; where grey spectres of boredom dwell.
She prefers the wild beauty of the open road
For there she feels that she can be truly free

Your poem paints a true, very invigorating and hopeful picture of what, a true modern vibrant poetess should be. Very well conceived and vibrantly, strong singing the true and important characteristics that make poetry great, " kinship with nature, vision transcends bleak modern age, no refuge in houses of decay" and much more. A fantastic poem to follow, rejoice in and adore, by all poetry writing women. I really loved it! Thank you.

Thanks so much for that wonderful review Sandra! I deliberately chose to write the poem using her rather he as it has become somewhat standard and indeed hackneyed to refer to ' the poet' as the patriarchal' he'.I often do this in my work. I'm pleased that you appreciate what I am trying to say.within this poem.
