This whole poem is set in a place that is 'other', a kind of irreality in which its allegory can be set. Thus of EVA: They said she was not of mortal birth. Note the tapestry weaving of colours, of golds and purples.
It seems likely that Eva here represents Letitia's own daughter, Ella, who was born secretly and given up for adoption. It is noteworthy that Eva's mother is never named and cannot be acknowledged. To give Eva legitimacy, Amirald is said to have wed her mother in secret.
