Tree in the yard has always been there providing shelter and shade. Now it takes a new life in your poem to be appreciated by many all over the world. No storm will move what you created. Beautiful poem.

It tells a tale of struggle and survival It had stood there before I was born Now it displays every scar and every stripe on its corrugated bark as a proud trophy It may be a tree but to me it appears a metaphor for senior member of the family, what ever it may be, it's a great poem by Valsa George.

Nature itself, in the form of the humble tree, can indeed be stoic. This is a wonderful poem, Valsa.

I always like to read poems about trees. I like the way you tell of its struggle for survival and endurance through all conditions. I suppose one could see it as an allegory for the life of a person. If you like tree poems, you might enjoy my Walnut Tree and Untimely Ripped.

Your poem is beautifully green like giant tree in bloom; it shelters in its spreading shade weary readers too. (10)

I have always been fascinated with trees and the way you have pictured an old tree in your yard, it's simply amazing. A tree truly symbolizes struggle n forbearance in the face of hardships. In all seasons n weathers it stands stoically. Growing from a seed to a towering giant to becoming scaly n wrinkled, a tree is a metaphor for life. A towering 10.

A beautiful tribute to the tree in your yard, the comfort and it's towering strength of purpose as you see too its pain and struggle to survive and yet it provides a sanctuary to shield from the sun and rain a gentle giant of beauty and peace! Superb write!

A lovely tribute to one of God's blessings- the tree. The tree can be seen as a monument to strength under fire, or seen as a fruitful caretaker, or a playground for children, or a companion that never strays as we both get older. Well-done, Valsa! Very well-done. 10++++

For any tree nowadays to reach a grand age despite the elements and folly of humans is truly a commendable achievement. I certainly appreciate the shade and shelter and to drive through tree tunnels and arches is a treat for the soul. Your tree looks healthy and is very lucky to have your admiration.10+

Tree stands in yard is amazing with expression of imagery in this poem and this image braves mind smarting beams. Destiny of life observes life's efficiency through this tree. Life is full of struggle and for survival this is necessary. This message we get from tree. With chilling rain sometimes we feel pain and filtering emotion through umbrella sun rays give glitter of happiness. An interesting and excellent poem is shared...10

Trees are a reassuring sign of permanence in our ever-shifting world. As you say they were there before we were born and they will be there after we leave. Enjoyed reading!
