The Treacherous Heart Poem by Arun Maji

The Treacherous Heart

Rating: 5.0

And that day
I hid your smile within my heart.
And since then
My heart is not mine anymore.

If my heart sings your song
And dance to your rhythm,
Then how could I call it mine?

How mysterious,
How treacherous is my own heart!
Isn't it?
My heart still resides within me
Yet it's not mine.
Your little smile
Has conquered it for ever.

And I am living dead
Without my heart.
How could a human stay alive
Without his heart?

May be,
You should give my heart back.
So that I could be alive
Again.

Well written, Arun Maji. Falling in love does indeed affect our heart in strange ways.
