The Train That Went Around The World Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Train That Went Around The World

The Train that Went Around the World

The train that went around the world
Made the sounds as all trains do.
It's engine whirled and speeded
Up beyond gravity needed.

This train took passengers into space.
It's pace was that of the universe.
This train knew no other place
Except the darkness of black space.

One day a baby engineer
Saw the plight of this train.
So he started writing equations
For his train so near and dear.

Now this loaded space train
Wound around galaxies afar.
The baby engineer took his train
In his hand and put it down on the floor.
