The Tip Of The Lash Poem by Drew Engman

The Tip Of The Lash

Rating: 5.0

Have you ever asked fate why some suffer
Have you ever asked life why some die?
Punch holes thru' a wall in your anger
Run away because you had to cry?

I've done more, and worse, and then some
I can never be cocky or proud
Falling so far away from all wisdom, and
I can't even blame the wrong crowd.

I have sworn to tell truth but kept lying
Forged documents, burned thru' others' cash
For a long time I wasn't even trying
Until I felt the tip of the lash.

Then I cried out in pain and frustration
Time to quit now before I got caught
But it's hard to find true liberation
When you've only sold, never bought.
