Many things distract us and delight us,
Lots and lots of things to do all told,
But the time is ripe to see unfold
A new creed of environmental justice.
While away the time while Earth's in peril,
A sin if ever was one, harsh but true—
Denying our world's death are not a few:
They might as well shoot rapids in a barrel.
Time is short, the science says, an emergency:
We need to mobilize able bodies now,
Or doom for one and all will surely follow:
No use to hope for miraculous leniency.
A climate war's upon us, don't you know?
And apathy is everybody's foe.
