The Thrill Is Gone Poem by Ray Hansell

The Thrill Is Gone

Rating: 5.0

My tears keep falling
More with each passing day
I still cannot believe
The Lord has taken you away

My life came to be
The day that I met you
Now once again I'm alone
Not sure just what to do

The days go on forever
The nights fade into tomorrow
No matter how hard I try
I can't escape the sorrow

I know I must move on
I know someday I will
But living life each day
No longer holds the same thrill

A heart-wrenching description of life without the one we love. The memories sustain us, but at the same time also torture us. Very touching.
