'The Threshold' By Brunilda Ternova [2015]

Through a desolate expanse,
My weary steps trace,
A well-trodden path,
Where memories interlace.
The earth breathes softly,
'Neath my faltering stride,
By whispering waters, solace I confide,
Oh, elusive love, where do you reside?
My spirit flickers, my strength subsides,
A fragile boat, a whispered plea,
When will you unveil your mystery to me?

Oh restless heart, for a sign I yearn,
A sanctuary built, where truths discern,
An ancient castel, its walls stark and bare,
Seem to murmur secrets on the twilight air,
Is this the place of beauty, or tears?
The realm of reverie, through passing years?
A silent longing, a whispered prayer,
In that sacred ground, beyond compare,
Oh, echo of love, lost in the fading light,
A haunting whisper, from a forgotten night,
Tell me, when will the shadows retreat?
When will I find the peace I entreat?

This fleeting world, it could all descend,
So let my journey, my spirits to mend,
To that hidden refuge, known but us two,
Where love's melody, rings clear and true,
a name unspoken,
somewhere a sacred tryst,
a flame unbroken,
somewhere a gate concealed,
Is this where time surrenders, and love's revealed?
Oh fleeting vision,
oh embrace,
oh vanishing touch,
When will you grant me passage through?
To where your radiant light shines true?

If you have a moment, a word to share,
Let's wander onward, on love's soft air.
This, could be the ultimate quest,
So let this journey to find our rest.
Before the curtain falls upon the night,
Let's venture forth, towards the dawning light.
Somewhere, here and now,
a whispered vow,
a sanctuary found,
a timeless art,
two souls entwined, never to part,
a love eternal, beneath the setting sun.
