The Threads We Pull Poem by Ogolla Enock

The Threads We Pull

I once asked someone if he'd attend
a program I knew he had been longing
to participate in ever since I knew him.
"I wish the answer was as easy as Yes or No."
He answered with a pale face.

Time passed and I gain probed a friend
to talk to me about what was bothering him.
I knew he wanted but was hesitant to talk.
With a firm voice, he asked,
"Do you really want to pull that thread?

Days passed by and I thought I had learned
but it was until I was put in the same position
that I knew I had not really learned.
Now I know better. Now I know better.

Never trouble still waters unless you can call to peace
Never pull threads you cannot weave back in place.
Certain roads are better left trodden.
Certain questions are better left unasked.
Certain doors are better left closed.
