I think we all agree that FIRE! in a crowded theater is a crime, but any other censure of words because of political, religious or personal sensibilities, is a crime as well.

An amazing tribute to the words we employ to express our thoughts and feelings arising out of umpteen situations. The role of thought police needs to be curtailed. Thanks. I quote: Open eyes or censure thought Your words a cultural charade Word juggling clowns on parade

Edmund, great poem! I really like that last two poems you've posted recently...there's something in your writing that's seems different. I'm not sure...The structure of the writing is much more specific and to the point of your theme. I like this....although I do like the other writing too; just noticing the change in the style. The first two lines of this poem are excellent....drew me in...and they did make me think of a carnival barker of sorts. I LOVED the final stanza. This is a very upbeat and positive way of promoting the first amendment and to me it also seems like a call to action or challenge for other poets. Well done! :)
