The Temptress Poem by Aqua Flower

The Temptress

You knew all along what she was to you
Knowing she could never be more
Knowing that even if she played the game over and over,
She would never win in the end
Riding on her hopes and dreams
You held on tight until your grip loosened
By the consequences of aging
How much longer can you go on? You asked
Is it worth the arduous task of living that lie
When she said to you, it is what you do
And that she knows she is nothing more
That is when you decide to proceed to the exit door
Her eyes no longer looked through a rose-colored lens
She only saw ahead a road that ends
What has he given her all these years
Now emptiness surrounds her as an imaginary rope wraps around her neck
She was the temptress, not someone who was loved
