Tremendous poem! We learnt this as kids in school. It depicts so well the life, now long gone, of the teamster and his challenges in charge of up to 20 bullocks pulling side by side yoked together. With a huge whip made of greenside (unprocessed as in leather, cow-hide) often as long as 5 metres the teamster didn't have it easy.
