The Taylors Poem by Pleasant Dabbs

The Taylors

Remembering the Taylors,
Pray tell now-how to start?
Ol' Robert works and fixes things
And Rea, she's the heart
So put the two together
And tell me what you have?
A feisty bull, don't get in the way!
And she's the mellow calf

But when I'm feelin' down and out,
Or hurtin' in some way
I won't hesitate, I'll give them a call.
They'll brighten up my day
Yes, Bob will take you all a-round
And show you what he's built
And Rea she will sit you down,
And show you her latest quilt

Both experts in their profession,
They know the ins and outs
They too have feelings deep inside,
So don't you have any doubts
A more kind and caring couple
I don't know if you will find
Cause friends like them are hard to get,
No deceit or words unkind

But they have moved away from us,
So far away- to Sandy!
It's hard to get away to see them!
(Isn't that an excuse dandy) ?
Why can't they come and see us too!
There! Now the fault is theirs!
I've got no-fault insurance!
But really, it's who cares-

We both care ‘bout each other.
I mean, they're both in our hearts
Yes, we can live somewhat away,
But that's not where it starts-
The key is in the gospel,
That's why we feel close
Cause he's our bro and she's our sis-
We're fam'ly-and I propose

That we wait for the time again,
When we'll be neighbors near
Now I'm not lyin', it might be Zion,
If we can't do it here
But Zion, that is well enough,
If we can both be pure
Then we will see you once again,
Of that yes, I am sure!

…Love, us
